Many musicians, artists and politicians have been seen sporting bow ties in recent years, and celebrity athletes have joined the fold. The preppy college look has hit the high street with a bang, bringing these fabulous neckties back into fashion.

The range of celebrities including pop and rap stars flaunting these garments has increased and set trends for men (and women) across the globe, in fact take a trip to the trendiest haunts in your local town or city and you may come across a few bow ties. We are often asked why we don't have a selection of silk self-tie bow ties; the reason is they drive you mad! As you can see on any video demonstrating how to tie a bow tie the voiceover seems to always mention using a robust fabric, silk is just too smooth to keep it in place for any length of time. To test this theory we had our staff wear a silk bow tie for around six hours, this was agreed to replicate a typical dinner and drinks evening.
